One of the core tasks of the Embassy in Pretoria (Tshwane) and the Consulate General in Cape Town is to promote economic and trade relations between South Africa and the Netherlands. We offer active support to Dutch companies already present in South Africa and those starting to explore the South African market. We also provide advice to South African companies interested in trade and investment in the Netherlands. We provide more detailed information about opportunities in sectors with high potential, where the Netherlands offers specific added–value: water, agriculture, energy, transport & logistics and healthcare. More detailed information about these sectors, is available on request.
How can we support your business?
The Embassy and Consulate-General work closely together with the Dutch government agency for supporting trade and investment, the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO). Together we offer the following services to companies that want to enter the South African market:

Information about support from the Dutch government
Supporting trade missions and visits to South Africa
We regularly support – or organize in cooperation with RVO – incoming and outgoing trade missions between South Africa and the Netherlands. Information about such missions is published via the Embassy website and here or through third parties which may organize such missions (e.g. SANEC). We also support individual businesses traveling to South Africa in setting up contacts with public or private sector parties.
The Embassy and Consulate-General regularly organise networking events for Dutch businesses with South African counterparts. These can be general receptions or events (often in cooperation with parties such as SANEC) or seminars or functions linked to a specific incoming mission. The aim is to provide a platform to share best practices and explore business opportunities with potential partners.
